Feedback at 5:00: New I.D. Technology

Posted: Updated:

As students get ready to hit the stores for school supplies, some schools are considering a very different way of issuing identification.

From elementary age, to college -- they will be using "Iris Scanning" for security.

Students at Winthrop University in South Caroling had their eyes scanned at freshmen orientation this summer and also received I.D. cards.

For younger students, bus drivers are implementing technology that scans a student's eye before they come aboard.

When they get on or off, parents get an email or text with a picture of their child.

They are also given a Google map of where they boarded and exited, along with a time stamp.

Would you like to see iris security implementing in your districts? Why or why not? It's tonight's "Feedback at 5:00."
