Wednesday's Local Sports Coverage (7/10)

Posted: Updated:

TRAVERSE CITY -- It's a huge week on the ice as the Red Wings begin their annual rookie development camp at Centre Ice Arena.

The headline story today was Chris Chelios, who is just one day removed from being inducted to Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2013.  We were able to chat with Chris and get his thoughts on the ultimate honor.

We were also able to catch up with veteran forward Darren Helm who is continuing to rehab from a back injury that cost him almost all of the 2012-13 season.  Helm appeared in just one game last year after injuring his back during preseason weight lifting.

Also on Wednesday, we made our way down to Big Rapids High School for a stop on the Lake Michigan Football Report "Best of the Best" combine tour.

For more information about the tour visit www.childressports.com

We'll be back with more tomorrow with more from Traverse City as the Wings continue rookie camp.

Enjoy!
