MTM On The Road: The Governor's Summer Home on Mackinac Island

Posted: Updated:

For decades the First Family of Michigan has enjoyed visiting the historic "Governor's Home" on Mackinac Island.

Originally built for a Chicago Architect, the Mackinac Historic Parks purchased the home for just $15,000 and dedicated it to the Governor of Michigan and his or her family to use during their term.

Historians say each family falls in love with the home and adds their own personal touches, while keeping the historical charm and stories of this beautiful structure alive.

Kalin and Stephanie got a tour of the home, and have more.
