Suttons Bay Schools Makes Decision on Busing for '13-'14 School Year

Posted: Updated:

One northern Michigan school board has finally come to a decision regarding how some students will get to school next year.

The Suttons Bay school board voted 8 to 0 to use BATA busses again as their means for transportation.

Earlier this year, the Federal Transportation Administration ordered BATA to stop busing students.

They said BATA was in violation in public transportation requirements.

The school board was given three options, including reinstating their own transportation, and hiring a service provider.

School board members say choosing the third option, public transportation, is the best for the district and students.

9 & 10's Meredith Barack and photojournalist Jeff Blevins were at tonight's school board meeting and have the details behind their decision.
