The Beach Bums might not have played on Monday but still something important to mention.  A trio of Bums were named to the Frontier League All-Star Team including shortstop Taylor Wrenn, catcher Marcus Nidiffer and starting pitcher Scott Dunn.

Wrenn is batting .302 this season with five homers and 28 RBI. Dunn is a perfect 9-0 to start the season.

Also on Monday, some good news for CMU running back Zurlon Tipton.  Tipton was named to the Maxwell Award watch list.  The Maxwell award is given to the best player in college football.

Tipton recorded the fourth-best rushing season in CMU history last year going for nearly 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Michigan OT Taylor Lewan and QB Devin Gardner were also named to the list.

Meanwhile in East Lansing, LB Max Bullough and CB Darqueze Dennard were both named to the Bednarik Award watch list for the best defensive player in the country.
