UPDATE: Cadillac Man with Homemade Explosives Given Jail Time

Posted: Updated:

Police arrested a man in Cadillac last night after they say he threw small homemade explosive devices and held onto another.

Officers patrolling the city park heard a loud explosion just before the fireworks.

They arrested Christopher McGrath by the boat launch.

No one was injured but there was some minor damage to the park and a curb.

The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad disposed of the device.

McGrath pleaded guilty to explosive manufacturing, possession of explosive material and being a habitual offender.

McGrath is sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 3 days.
