An art show in one northern Michigan town is offering a chance to see, and buy, lots of creative hand made items.

It's the Houghton Lake Arts and Crafts Fair and it started today.

The event on the grounds of Houghton Lake Middle School has nearly 100 vendors with everything from jewelry to decorations, and of course food.

Thousands of people are expected.

The event also supports art programs at Houghton Lake Schools.

The Houghton Lake Arts and Crafts Association, who put on the show, typically raise $15,000 to $20,000 each year for art programs.

The show runs through Sunday.
