NCF 2013: Going Green and Reducing Waste at the National Cherry Festival

The National Cherry Festival has been going green for the past 5 years with their recycling initiative.

But thanks to a new partnership with Bay Area Recycling for Charities, the festival is even more environmentally friendly.

By adding sorting stations instead of catch all trash bins, organizers say they are on their way to becoming a zero waste operation.

9 and 10's Marisa McKay and photojournalist Jeremy Erickson spent time at the open space today learning all about going green, and the festival's carbon footprint.
