Man Arrested After Ramming His Car Into Ogemaw Co. Police Vehicles

Posted: Updated:

Two patrol cars are damaged after police say a man rammed his own car into them.

The incident happened Thursday evening at the Ogemaw County Sheriff's Department in West Branch.

The sheriff says Timothy Labeau came to the department asking to be arrested, but when deputies refused, he got into his car and drove it into two patrol cars.

Labeau took off, but was later arrested at his home in Gladwin.

It's not clear why Labeau wanted to be arrested.

He was formally charged on Friday with two counts of malicious destruction of police property and one count of operating on a suspended license.

The damage to the two vehicles is estimated in the thousands.
