Happy Fourth of July!

The holiday brought us back to Wuerfel Park where the Beach Bums were holding their annual "Welcome Home" celebration.

The team honored World War II veterans with a special pre-game tribute.

Oh by the way, there was also a game to be played.  The Beach Bums trying to halt a two-game losing streak against the Rascals.  Unfortunatley a late rally came up short as the Bums fell to the Rascals 7-5 in 11 innings.

Meanwhile on Dow Diamond, the Loons and Whitecaps reneweing their intra-state rivalry.  Great Lakes with three runs in the seventh to break it open.  The Loons win it 7-5.

Finally, former CMU guard Kyle Randall has caught on with an NBA team.  He has been added to the Sacramento Kings summer league roster.  Randall led the Chips in scoring during his one season in Mount Pleasant back in 2011-12.
