Safety Top Priority When Preparing for 4th of July Fireworks Show

Posted: Updated:

Fireworks are planned for all over northern Michigan tonight, Thursday.

They are displays that take a tremendous amount of coordination and pre-planning.

A representative with Wolverine Fireworks tells 9&10 News he spent three months getting ready for the show.

They plan to shoot off 2,150 fireworks.

With all those explosives, safety is always key.

A perimeter is set up to keep people away from the staging area, and the fire department will be on standby.

9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Eric Davis have more details.
