New Era Man Arrested in Stabbing Investigation

Posted: Updated:

Michigan State Police arrested a 40-year old New Era man in connection with a stabbing incident.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning, June 30th, at a residence in Clay Banks Township.

Police say the victim was stabbed in the back with a large hunting-style knife, and that the incident was a continuation of an earlier disagreement that began between the two at a bar.

State troopers located and arrested the suspect on Wednesday and he was booked in the Oceana County Jail on a charge of assault with intent to commit great bodily harm.

The victim was treated and released from a local hospital where the knife was removed.
