NCF 2013: Kids Bike Rodeo

Posted: Updated:

The Kids Bicycle Rodeo took over part of the Grand Traverse Mall parking lot today.

It was event all about teaching bike safety.

National Cherry Festival organizers teamed up with Priority Health and Kohls' Four Seasons Safety Program to put together a timed obstacle course.

Children brought their own bikes to the parking lot and competed in different heats, by age group.

The event taught the importance of stopping at stop signs and railroad crossings and always wearing a helmet.

The event was free for children participating, and any child who brought a cracked or broken helmet was given a replacement for free.
