NCF 2013: Honoring Our Local Heroes

July 1, 2013 -

Hero's Day it may be called, but the men and women honored today say they're just ordinary people doing their jobs.

Today at the National Cherry Festival, crowds tipped their hats to people serving us on the home front and abroad.

Members of the Michigan National Guard out of Camp Grayling, the coast guard, and local first responders were among those recognized.

9 and 10's Marisa McKay and photojournalist Jeremy Erickson learned why the National Cherry Festival chooses to honor our local heroes, and what the heroes themselves think about the event.
