Posted: Updated:

Police in Isabella County say a woman was robbed and threatened with a gun while shopping at a Dollar General in Shepherd.

It happened around 8:20 last night.

Michigan State Police say the woman was grabbed from behind and forced into the back room of the store. That's when the suspect demanded money and threatened to kill her if she screamed.

police arrested Douglas Dersham and say he had a pair of scissors and threatened to pull a gun from his pocket.

He got away with her phone, then bound her and covered her mouth with a paper towel and tape. She was not hurt.

A Michigan State Police K-9 unit tracked Dersham down. Troopers say after searching his car, they found marijuana and other evidence linked to the crime.

Dersham is a man from LeRoy who was traveling through the area.
