Bugs Eating Away at Thousands of Trees and Big Rapids' Budget

The destructive Emerald Ash Borer continues to kill healthy trees in Northern Michigan.

It's latest victim is Big Rapids where the pest is causing big problems for the city.

The small insect was first found in Michigan in 2002 and spread quickly.

Big Rapids Public Works has already chopped down some dead Ash trees because they became unsafe. City officials think they are going to have to take them all down, they just didn't think it would happen so soon.
