It's the time of year schools are focused on their budgets.
Traverse City Area Public Schools set out to approve their budget for the 2013, 2014 school year tonight - and like many schools, they're expecting less funding.
The district is seeing a shortfall, but it won't cause them to have to begin a budget reduction process just yet.
They say they're hoping to see additional funding come in to the district in coming years.
Often, much of the money that the state allots for school districts has to be used for retired worker pensions.
