MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) -- Andrew Chapman made a 20-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole at Muskegon Country Club to win the Michigan Amateur.

The 33-year-old Chapman beat Mike Ignasiak 1-up in Saturday's championship match.

Chapman was 2-up after the 15th hole, but wayward drives hurt him on Nos. 16 and 17. On the final hole, a 550-yard par 5, Chapman made a birdie and Ignasiak missed a putt from about 18 feet.

Chapman hails from Traverse City and played golf at the University of Michigan. Ignasiak played baseball there and actually pitched a bit for the Milwaukee Brewers from 1991-95.
