My North Ticket Minute: First Weekend of Summer

Posted: Updated:

The first day of summer is this Friday and there's plenty to do this weekend.

This Friday the Jeff Haas Quintet comes to the Leland Public School Performing Arts Center. The classic-jazz-R&B concert includes a pre-show reception at the Leland Lodge.

Then Saturday, hop aboard the Nauti-Cat Concert Cruise here at the dock at West Bay Holiday Inn. The performance is straight from the islands, Mon-Dubtonickru. A combo of reggae, dub and rock and it's all out on the water.

Wrap up your weekend on Sunday with a picnic dinner and Leelanau Lakeside Concert at Fountain Point. Alfonso Ponticelli and Swing Gitan are Chicago's premier gypsy-jazz band and they're bringing you a show of guitar, violin and cimbalom out on the lawn. And a bonus, kids and students under 25 with proper ID receive free admission.
