It's not only families who will be hitting the road this holiday weekend.

Police say they will have a heavy presence on the roads as well, and will be keeping an eye out so things remain safe.

9 & 10's Meredith Barack and photojournalist Jeff Blakeman rode along with one sheriff's deputy and they share his tips on staying out of trouble while on the road.

    Police have identified the 19-year-old Grand Traverse County man who died after a two car accident Saturday night. The accident happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Williamsburg Road near Woodcrest Lane in Whitewater Township.
