CMU Softball Season Ends With 7-4 Loss To Valpo

Posted: Updated:

It was a rough couple days for CMU Softball.  Last weekend, the Chippewas were celebrating a MAC Championship that came in the most dramatic fashion.  Saturday, their season came to end with a 7-4 loss to Valparaiso in the Midwest Regional.

The Chips were dropped down to the elimination bracket because of an 8-1 setback against the University of California Friday.

CMU quickly found itself in a 4-0 hole Saturday mainly because of sloppy defense.  The offense finally got on the board in the 4th when Cory DeLamielleur drilled a solo shot to left.  Last weekend's hero Trista Cox also homered in the 6th.

Cox also drove in a pair of runs with a double in the 7th.
