Police now have the man who barricaded himself in a Marion home in custody.

Police say the man surrendered after 3 hours.

Marion schools have lifted the lockdown, and students are on their way home from school now.

Marion Schools are still on lock down and all homes near Waters and Clark Streets have been evacuated.

Police say there is a man with a history of mental illness barricaded himself in his home, threatening to commit suicide.

Marion Schools were placed on lockdown today as a precaution.

Police say there was no direct threat to the school, but someone in the neighboring area to the school was making suicidal threats.
