Feedback at 5:00: Pregnancy Photos in High School Yearbooks

Posted: Updated:

Two Michigan high school students say they will stay out of this year's high school yearbook after they were banned from showing their baby bumps.

The pair were pulled aside by yearbook staff, and told their photos need to be re-taken because their pregnancy bellies were showing.

Deonna Harris and Kimberly Haney, who both go to school in White Cloud, say they have decided against shooting new photos to hide their pregnancies.

The White Cloud Superintendent says allowing the pregnant photos to appear would go against the state's mandate that public schools' sex-education curriculum, which is abstinence-based.

For this Feedback at 5:00, we asked if you think Michigan teens should be allowed to use photos of them while pregnant in yearbooks.
