Michigan State Police Discuss Meth Lab Dangers and Raise Awareness

Posted: Updated:

People are getting frustrated at the rise of one-pot meth labs and want to know what to look for to stop it.

Just in the last week, there have been more than a dozen reported meth lab dump sites found in and around Wexford County.

Police say meth waste is becoming all too common and many people are coming across dump sites without really knowing what it is. Michigan State Police Sergeant John Schneider says they call them one-pot meth labs, small quantity of meth is being made and it can be made in a variety of forms but sometimes it's a 2-liter bottle of pop or soda.

And these one-pot meth labs are extremely dangerous because of the chemicals involved.

If you come across a suspicious object, don't touch it and call police.

9&10's Katie Boomgaard spoke with the Michigan State Police about how dangerous these labs can be.
