Mesick Mushroom Festival Is Underway

Posted: Updated:

For the 54th year, mushroom hunters and mushroom lovers will descend on Mesick for the three day festival.

The weather so far this spring has the makings for a great mushroom season but, it maybe a wet festival.

That shouldn't stop the fun though.

Everything kicked off rain or shine, today in Mesick and runs through Sunday.

The festival has its usual flea market, parade and mushroom memorabilia.

For more than half a century the festival has turned from a niche celebration to a staple and family tradition.

9&10's Eric Lloyd and photojournalist Tony Zyber dropped in on the soggy celebration and have more details.
