Governor Snyder Signs Bill Allowing NRC to Designate Game Species

Posted: Updated:

A new bill just signed by Governor Snyder allows the Natural Resource Commission to designate what is a game species.

Under the move wolves could be named a game species by the NRC, making it okay for them to be hunted.

It's supported by conservation groups but opposed by animal rights groups.

The NRC is scheduled to vote on wolf hunting tomorrow at their meeting in Roscommon county.

We will be at the meeting and bring you continuing coverage tomorrow on 9&10 News.
