Police have identified the man found dead in an East Bay Township field earlier this week.

The mans identity was confirmed by a family member, and his name will not be released until the rest of his family is notified.

Police are still investigating and they say nothing they have found so far indicates any foul play.


Deputies in Grand Traverse county say after an autopsy, the body of a man found in a field shows no signs of trauma, but the cause of death is still unknown.

We're told two horse back riders saw the body in a field in East Bay Township, near Traverse City yesterday around 5:00 p.m.

The two called police, and emergency crews confirmed the person was dead.

Deputies say the body is a white male, 25 to 35 years old with short dark hair and brown/hazel eyes.

He is 5'11" and weighs around 184 pounds.

He was wearing black shoes, dark pants, and a dark sweatshirt, and was carrying a black backpack.

Investigators say the two found a body in East Bay Township.

Deputies say the person is white, 6 feet tall with a medium build, and was wearing black shoes, dark pants, and a dark sweatshirt. The body was also found with a black backpack.

The remains are at a medical examiner's office in Grand Rapids.
