New Bill Could Cut State Aid for Skipping School

Posted: Updated:

A new bill passed by the State House of Representatives will allow the state to revoke aid from families with students that do not go to school enough.

The state and schools believe education is the key to ending the poverty cycle and families that do not emphasize that should be pressured to do so.

Those families that don't comply and lose their benefits, may have to turn to other agencies for help, placing more burden on programs that are already cut thin.
