A Coast Guard rescue crew and Customs Border Protection teamed up to rescue a 14 year old boy stranded on the ice.

The boy was stranded on a piece of ice in the George Kemp Marina in Sault Ste. Marie.

Around 2 p.m. the Objiway vessel contacted search and rescue to report the boy about 20 feet from shore.

A boat crew arrived and threw the boy a rope.

Minutes later a small boat arrived to rescue him.

The boy was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
