UPDATE: Man Charged For Leading DNR on a 22 Mile Chase

Posted: Updated:

A man accused of leading a DNR officer on a 22-mile chase in Grand Traverse county is charged with the crime.

Deputies say when the DNR officer caught up with Jared Kaltenbach on a two track, he told the officer he had an outstanding warrant, and shortly after he asked him to pull on to the main road, he took off.

Court records show Kaltenbach crashed into a patrol car and ran.

He later turned himself into police.

Just into the 9&10 Newsroom: Grand Traverse County deputies say a man is on the run in Blair Township tonight.

We're told the DNR tried to pull the man over after finding him on state land.

Deputies say the chase pursued on Hoosier Valley Road before the man dumped the truck.

He's still on the run.

Police and K-9 units are circling the area.
