Ice problems on the Saint Mary's River could cause issues if the ice stops water flow to the power plant.

A boom that blocks the ice broke overnight and all the ice is piling up against the power plant.

If the ice stops water flow, it could also stop the turbines, which provide power to 20% of the Upper Peninsula.
