The Red Cross is working to open a shelter in Newaygo county to help people affected by flooding.
Open at 12:00 p.m. today, residents forced out of their homes can go to:

They are asking families planning to stay overnight to bring their own pillows and blankets, prescription medicines if needed, personal hygiene items, any items that infants, children, or the elderly might need, and a change of clothing.
