The shooting happened in Wellston in Manistee county on Tuesday.

Police say he shot and killed Dennis Guenthardt at his home on Main Street.

Robbery is believed to be the motive.

Police believe the two knew each other.

A murder investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed in his home in Manistee County.

According to police, 64-year-old Dennis Guenthardt was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in his Wellston home on Tuesday. Friends went to Guenthardt's home and found his body after they hadn't heard from him.

Officers believe robbery was the motive for this crime, but its not clear what, if anything was taken.

Police arrested a 19-year-old Irons man in connection to the murder, who they believe knew Guenthardt.

People who live in Wellston are remorseful about what happened, but say it won't change the way people feel about the community.

The suspect is expected to be charged on Thursday. Police say other arrests could be made in the case.
