If you frequent M-37 in Wexford County, you may want to find another way to get where you're going.
A new construction project will create a detour for travelers for about six months. The Michigan Department of Transportation began work today at the Manistee River, on M-37 near West 12 Road in Mesick.
The project will be completed in two phases - the first will realign M-37 at Sherman Hill.
Their goal is to be done with phase one by the end of June, just in time for Cherry Festival and the busy tourism season.
Phase two will construct a round-a-bout on M-37.
That will begin in August, and is expected to be done in October.
