Traverse City Food Truck Debate Rolls On

Posted: Updated:

It's been a passionate debate in Traverse City, and tonight, the public got to voice opinions on food trucks.

The Traverse City commission heard from a number of people in response to the possibility of food trucks rolling around the town.

Many says it will bring in more tourism, jobs, and will just be an overall boost to the local economy.

Others argue that they will take up prime parking locations, and take away customers from established restaurants.

The commission says they still have a lot to decide before anything is final.

Mayor Estes says he hopes the commission will make a final decision during their meeting on May 6th.

9 & 10's Meredith Barack and photojournalist Jeff Blakeman were at the meeting and explain what needs to be done to get the trucks up and running.
