The man suspected of shooting his wife and son at their Newaygo County home was found dead inside the house.

Police responded to the double shooting at a home on 17 Mile in Lilley Township just before 2 this afternoon.

They found Marsha and Charles Hoover Jr. dead of apparent gunshot wounds near the house outside.

Police believed Charles Mark Hoover Sr. shot both.

All cars at the home were accounted for leading police to believe he was still in the home or fled on foot.

A nine hour man hunt and ensued until police were able to enter the house with the help of a police robot.

The robot entered the home, ensuring no attack or traps waiting inside, then a police canine found the body of Charles Mark Hoover Sr. inside of a single, self inflicted gun shot.

The Michigan State Police crime lab is currently clearing the scene.
