Farmers Face Weather Woes

Posted: Updated:

The recent weather is a far cry from what it was a year ago, making some farmers happy, and others worry.

Rain is generally good for agriculture, but low temperatures are delaying the growing season.

At Billett Farm in Lake City, the rain will make for some great tomatoes and peppers as they continue to grow.

But at New Manna Mission in Manton, the cold temperatures are preventing anything from sprouting up in their green houses.

Now both farmers are left asking different things from mother nature.

Both farmers say they do have different tools to help them out when the weather isn't what they are hoping for, but say using them gets expensive.

9 & 10's Meredith Barack and photojournalist Jeff Blakeman explain the impact that the weather is having on them.
