City of Gaylord Holds Public Hearing Over Proposed Special Assessment

Posted: Updated:

People in Gaylord may have to pay a little more for police and fire service, soon.

A Public Hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 8, at 7:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, regarding a proposed special assessment.

The assessment, equal to .75 mills, will help pay for police and fire service.

Currently, the city is projecting a nearly $200,000 shortfall going into next year.

Without the assessment, the city manager says 24 hour police service would be in jeopardy.
