UPDATE: Reed City Judge Drops Charges Against Two Accused of Arson

Posted: Updated:

We have an update on two possible arson cases out of Osceola county.

A judge in Reed City dropped all charges against Terry Leach and another man after they were arrested last month accused of arson for a house fire in 2008.

Police believed Leach and the man conspired to burn her home down for the insurance money.

The judge ruled there was not enough evidence to prove arson.

In this update, two people are now accused of insurance fraud after police say they burned down an Osceola county home four years ago.

The fast moving fire gutted the home on M-66 near Marion back in May of 2008.

Flames destroyed the home, but no one was hurt.

The Michigan State Police took over the investigation in 2011.

They later determined that the home owner, Terry Leach conspired with a man to burn her home in order to collect insurance money.

Leach was charged yesterday with multiple crimes including arson and insurance fraud.

The Marion man charged with Leach is currently being held in a Georgia jail and expected to be brought back to Michigan.
