Police Train for Active Shooter Situations

Posted: Updated:

Training for a tragedy, it's what police officers in Charlevoix county were doing today.

Police officers must be ready for anything, as highlighted by the recent attack at Sandy Hook Elementary.

That's why officers from the Boyne City Police Department and Charlevoix Sheriff's Department were training at Boyne City High School today.

With the halls filled with smoke, officers swept through the school and took down targets.

While the training today was at a school, the officers can use it in many different situations where there are innocent bystanders.
