Lake County Corrections Officer Accused of Running Meth Lab

Posted: Updated:

A Lake County corrections officer is on the other side of the law after deputies say he was running a meth lab.

According to the Lake County Sheriffs Department, a registry that keeps track of people buying meth ingredients tipped off the department on Thursday.

Deputies then got a warrant, and when they arrived at the Webber Township home on Friday, they found an active operation.

On Monday afternoon, Brian Morrisey and Rebecca Beachler were formally charged for operating and maintaining a meth lab and for possession of meth.

Lake County Sheriff Bob Hilts says this type of behavior will not be tolerated and has been fired.

A woman who lived near the couple was shocked to learn of the allegations and never thought the couple was making meth.

Morrisey and Beachler are being held on bond.

They will return to court on April 9 at 1:30 p.m.
