My North Ticket Minute: Music Scene of Northern Michigan

Posted: Updated:

This week, your 60 seconds of event news hones in on the music scene of Northern Michigan.

The two member group Montana Skies names themselves after the freedom they explore in their musical creativity.

Come to their concert at the Inside Out Gallery this Saturday, March 30, and you might hear bits of Pink Floyd paired right next to a little Vivaldi.

Intrigued? Be there at 8:00 pm.

The following weekend, solo artist Carolyn Leonhart comes out to the Dennos on Saturday, April 6.

She's a mix of genres-jazzy, poppy, edgy-a well-rounded sensation, if you will. She's on at 8:00 pm in Milliken Auditorium.

This last event is a few months early, but definitely one to plan ahead for.

Sixto Rodriguez, the hero from the documentary Searching For Sugarman is headlining the Wine and Arts Festival this June.

That's all going down here on the grounds of the Grand Traverse Commons.

With a weekend pass, you'll see not only his act but the entire lineup plus a pass to the winemakers' party.
