Pine River Schools Face Potential School Closing Decision

Posted: Updated:

Like many districts in the state, Pine River is facing major budget constraints leading into next year and the only way out may be to close an elementary school.

The Osceola County school district is also looking to cut their one million dollar deficit in areas like bussing and athletics.

Right now the district has three elementary schools: Tustin, LeRoy and Luther.

Luther is the smallest and most remote, leading parents around town to think it may be the one to be cut.

No matter the decision, Superintendent Jim Ganger knows it won't be easy or widely accepted.

9&10's Eric Lloyd spoke with him and concerned parents and has more details.
