Muskegon River Flood Victims Receive Help from Volunteer Group

Posted: Updated:

A bit of relief for victims of Muskegon river flooding in Mecosta County in late January.

The Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief Team has been working on a number of homes damaged in the flood, for free.

Some of the work the group has done includes removing flooring, and dry wall, as well as ensuring mold doesn't grow in the homes.

Homeowners say that with the group's help, they hope to be able to get back home sooner than anticipated.

The group says they expect to work on up to 25 homes.

9 & 10's Meredith Barack and photojournalist Jeff Blakeman have more on what the help means for them.
