If spring fever has you thinking about camping, there's a way for you to chop down your own firewood.
The U.S. Forest Service will begin issuing firewood cutting permits starting April 1st.
A map of the Huron-Manistee National Forests will show you the designated chopping areas.
The permit allows dead trees to be cut within 200 feet of open, legal roads.
