New Bill Aims to Give Students Scheduling Flexibility

Posted: Updated:

A new bill introduced by State Representative Phil Potvin will allow students to avoid taking a foreign language or Algebra 2 in order to graduate.

Potvin says students should be able to focus on a path they want to follow instead of being forced to learn the skills they won't ever use again.

At Farwell Schools they cherish foreign language.

Three years ago they began a Chinese Immersion Program and so far have seen the benefits.

9&10's Eric Lloyd and photojournalist Jacob Johnson visited the school to see the program in action and have more details.
