Benzie County Woman Dies From Heart Attack After Escaping House Fire

A Benzie County woman suffered a deadly heart attack after escaping from a house fire.

Linda McAlpin managed to escape the intense flames and call 911 for help. But when firefighters arrived, McAlpin had a heart attack and died on her deck.

The fire happened on Cottonwood Court near Lake Ann in Benzie County Wednesday afternoon.

9&10's Katie Boomgaard and photojournalist Jeff Blakeman got reaction from neighbors who witnessed the scene.
