CMU women advance to second-straight MAC title game

Central Michigan is headed to its second-straight MAC Tournament title game.

The Chippewas upset top-seed Toledo 66-61 in the MAC semfinals on Friday, bringing an end to the Rockets' 15-game winning streak in the process.  CMU was the only MAC team to beat Toledo during the regular season.

CMU led by as much as 14 in the game, and led by just 3 with 8 seconds to play when Jessica Schroll blocked an attempted game-tying 3-pointer by the Rockets.  After making the block, Schroll grabbed the ball, ran down court and was fouled.  She hit her free throws to secure the win.

Crystal Bradford paced the Chippewas with game-high 20 points.

CMU plays Akron for the MAC Tournament title and an outrid bid to the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at 1 PM.
