Feedback at 5:00: Distracted Driving

Government researchers say one out of three Americans text or email when they drive.

A study from the Centers for Disease Control also found 69 percent of US drivers talk on their cell phones.

Driving while distracted can greatly increase the risk of an accident.

It’s illegal to text and drive in Michigan, and the newly enacted Kelsey’s Law, a teen from Sault Ste. Marie who died in a cell phone related car crash, bans cell phone use for anyone driving with a level 1 or level 2 graduated license in the state.
