UPDATE: Federal Report Explains Reasons Behind A 2011 Deadly Plane Crash

A new federal report says poor flying conditions and low visibility were issues the day of a deadly plane crash.

Two people were killed on their way to Mackinac Island.

The pilot, Joseph Pann Jr. of St. Ignace, and Thomas Phillips died when the single engine charter plane crashed on December 3rd 2011.

It crashed near St. Ignace shortly after taking off for the 4.5 mile trip to the island.

Pann worked for Great Lakes Air.
